Churchwood Design has always taken its impact on the environment very seriously. The natural timbers it uses in the manufacture of its furniture are either reclaimed or from approved suppliers using FSC recognised sources. A water based paint system is used and the workshop is kept at the optimum temperature required, for furniture production, using timber off-cuts in its carbon neutral wood burner!
As you can imagine, Churchwood Design is very excited to present its new environmental range of furniture. This furniture combines Churchwood Design’s existing levels of build quality and flexibility (to include any cabinet size and shape) with the many benefits of bamboo as a cabinet material:
- Fully sustainable – once trimmed, bamboo very quickly replenishes itself
- Solid material – Bamboo is not used as a veneer; it’s a solid material and therefore very durable
- Hard wearing – Bamboo is incredibly hard (as hard as oak)as a material and ideal for cabinetry, shelving and doors
- Flexible finish – You can enjoy bamboo in its natural finish (finished with a lacquer) or if your prefer – painted; its immense stability makes it an ideal base for bespoke, colour matched shades.
In tune with Churchwood Designs re-known levels of flexibility, you can choose to have just your cabinets and drawer boxes made from bamboo or your whole furniture commission to include doors and door frames; perhaps mixing the wonderful patina of bamboo with a custom paint shade of your choice?
