Churchwood Design -
With the Environment Always In Mind
Churchwood Design has always taken its impact on the environment very seriously - long before other furniture manufacturers gave any serious thought to such issues.
All timbers, used in production, come from FSC approved sources with offcuts either re used, (depending on size), or burnt in the carbon-neutral stove that keeps the workshops at the optimum temperature for woodworking.
Commissions are often produced using reclaimed timber. Re-purposing timbers prevents needles waste whilst allowing future generations to benefit from their wonderful patinas - something that only mother nature can create.
Real Green - Bamboo Kitchen Furniture
In 2019, Churchwood Design introduced ‘Real Green;’ the UK’s first fully accredited - sustainable kitchen furniture range.
Real Green uses solid bamboo in its construction - a material that once cut, very quickly replenishes itself.
The beauty of the product extends beyond its environmental qualities. Being incredibly hard and stable, bamboo is ideal for the busy kitchen environment. Being a solid material (as opposed to a veneer), makes items like cabinet shelves extremely durable.
Whilst the images below show Real Green in a traditional in-frame context, Real Green can be used to create furniture of any style in a natural, painted or combination of finishes.
