A Kitchen to Match a Particular Architectural Style
We have all seen period – often centuries old properties with really modern kitchens. If done carefully and with the skills of a good designer ‘the old meets modern’ contrast can work very effectively. However, from time to time, one sees a period home where – to respect the history and character of the interior, a more subtle and sympathetic approach is required. This is something that Churchwood Design, with its bespoke design and manufacturing flexibility, excel at.
With such properties, even ‘sticking in a standard in-frame design, from one of the ‘bespoke trophy brands,’ wouldn’t do the property justice; simply throwing money at the problem isn’t the answer. In fact, it can run the risk of achieving a kitchen that appears a little ‘vulgar’ - with a lack of regard to the interior fabric of the home. That’s aside of the ridiculous price tag!
Churchwood design work with discerning homeowners for whom a brand is far less important than the levels of craftsmanship and bespoke design and manufacturing skills capable of producing furniture that’s perfectly in-tune with their period homes architectural style.
At Churchwood Design, we have the capability to match centuries old cornice, skirting, door mouldings and even finishes to create a kitchen that looks like its always belonged there – rather than a temporary 10 – 20 year design statement.
However, Churchwood Design isn’t simply a ‘slave to the past!’ Clever design combined with working closely with a customer to ensure all their requirements are met, ensures that their new kitchen is more than up to 21st century living. Plenty of storage, worktop space, social dining / seating as well as carefully concealed – integrated appliances make one of our commissions not just a joy to look at, but also, an absolute delight to live with and use on a daily basis.
The use of solid FSC sourced timbers and traditional cabinet making techniques (Solid X 5 piece doors / hardwood frames / chopped in butt hinges / dovetailed drawer boxes / solid timer, screwed together cabinets ) means that the furniture will last for generations, making it an excellent long-term investment. In years to come, taps, handles and colours can change BUT the furniture will be as good as the day it left our workshops.
So if your looking emulate a particular interior style and design, with your new kitchen, look no further than Churchwood Design......we also promise you a realistic price!
